dry humored dad friend, halfblood that belongs nowhere, homesick wolf making a new pack, neutral good.

Born to an Izanagi mother in an inugata (wolf shifter) conclave and a Nezerin father that he's never known, Kiao has always been an outcast. His village elders saw him a product of a baleful union, a reminder of everything that the Nezerin Empire put their nation through - war, conquering, the death of their gods, the theft of a prized Izanagi noble who became the Nezerin empress. He kept his head down, helped his village with the farming, the hunting, childcare - because anything else brought undue attention and stress to his mother, his stepfather, his siblings.

But the elders did see him as a viable sacrifice to those long dead gods, with his mixed blood and his otherness. He would usher in the Dragon of the Heavens, the greatest of the old gods, by being a sacrifice to the oncoming storm. Except they all lost their lives, when the sacrifice worked.
Fearing the power that was awakened in him, knowing so little of magic and uncertain he could control it, he fled Izanagi to seek answers to the west. It just turns out that his role in the fate of the world was far more than he ever anticipated, and those powers lay dormant with truths that were long locked away. A famed father he doesn't remember but apparently should, the reality that everything happened for a reason, that the powers were there already and simply unlocked. Too many questions. The answer?
